GENERAL FAQ
I’ve downloaded the application onto my device, now it’s asking me for a login and passphrase. How do I add a new device to my account?
The easiest way to generate login information for your account is by downloading the MyTVs app onto your smartphone or tablet. If Heart of Iowa just created your account, you should have received an email containing an auto-generated login and passphrase, good for up to seven (7) days from the day that the email was sent. We recommend using the initial login and passphrase from this email to log into the mobile application on your smartphone or tablet. You can generate new login and passphrase codes within the mobile app to set up your TV streaming devices. Once registered into the mobile app, you can click on the three lines at the top-left of the screen, select ‘Settings’ in the menu, then tap ‘Manage Devices’. Within ‘Manage Devices’, it will display all devices registered to your account and provide new auto-generated codes that you can use to register new devices to your account. The app also allows for watching live (only on HICC Fiber Internet network) and recorded content through your mobile devices as well as setting and managing your recordings if applicable. *Note* If you’ve lost or did not receive your welcome email, or if your email code has expired beyond the seven (7) day time period, please give our office a call (641-486-2211) so we can help.

I paused a LIVE TV program, then my Apple TV brought up the screen saver and I lost my spot in my program and it’s no longer accessible. How can I prevent this?
This can be resolved by disabling the device’s screen saver mode. To do this, exit the Santel Smart Stream application back to the device’s main dashboard, open the Settings application from the Apple TV dashboard, then choose ‘General’, then ‘Screen Saver’. In the Screen Saver options, change the ‘Start After’ option to “Never”. This will keep future paused programs from being interrupted.
